Very good. We can work together on this to turn it into a formal honor submission to the NAD, and it will bubble up to the GC from there. It's too late to get it considered this year (the meeting is less than two weeks away), but plenty of time to get it in shape for next year. I ''need'' to get the honor proposal process up on the Wiki soon, but with the meeting coming up so soon, I am very busy, and by the time I get out fro under all the work involved in that, I'm sure to forget it. When you stumble over your oddly placed radio... drop a note here again to remind me! Alternatively, I can see if there's a way to submit changes like this to the GC directly. --[[User:Jomegat|Jomegat]] ([[User talk:Jomegat|talk]]) 20:34, 2 February 2016 (EST) | Very good. The red background on the honor patch suggest that this honor belongs in the Vocational category rather than in Recreation. --Jomegat 00:00, 8 August 2014 (EDT)
- This honor is not FL Conference. I got the requirements from the SPD but it states that the honor originated from the GC. The honor is also available from the SAD with similar requirements, although it states the originating institution as unknown. Also, I put it in the Recreation category by mistake; it should be vocational.
- Cool. The GC is currently working to bring in more honors from the SAD. Maybe this will be one of them. --Jomegat 00:27, 8 August 2014 (EDT)
CB Bands
Thanks for your invitation to Join Jomegat.
I've been involved in sales and service of CB equipment in Australia for a couple of decades. This honour can be found in a pdf file containing scans of typewritten honours on the AUC website. I remember it being around when I was pathfinder age in the 80s. I have limited my corrections that which was blatantly wrong only.
The reference to UHF CB along with AM and SSB make this distinctly region specific. The UK, Europe and possibly other countries use FM in the 27Mhz band(s). The UK did have an 900 Mhz UHF CB band but I believe its been revoked. The U.S. does not have a UHF CB band but rather FRS and GMRS band which is a different ball game.
The lack of reference to UHF CB repeaters makes me think the honour was written in the early days of UHF CB in Australia prior to the legalisation of repeaters.
I hope this information is helpful to those who are involved in decision making.

- What would be really helpful would be if you could propose changes to the requirements to make them more generic for the world. I would suggest removing specific bands, and simply require the PF to have a knowledge of which bands his gear can legally use, and where they fall in the spectrum. --Jomegat (talk) 10:22, 3 October 2014 (EDT)
- breaker breaker 1-9, good buddy, feel free to provide the answers too - which could well include the info you provided here noting regional differences. It is an honor I'd like to earn, 10-4, but this post is about all I know, you copy? JadeDragon (talk) 14:40, 3 October 2014 (EDT)
Some time since I was here last but I remembered my password. A proposed amended edition:
1. Be familiar with the conditions governing the licensing and operation of stations in the citizen band radio communication service.
2. List the upper and lower frequencies of the CB band(s) in your country. Know channel numbers and list frequencies of:
a. Emergency channels
b. Road channels
c. Call channels
d. Distress Calling Marine
e. CB repeater channels if applicable in your country
f. Note which of the above are defined by law and which are local customs
3. Know the function of the following controls:
a. Channel selector
b. Volume
c. RF gain
d. Mute or squelch
e. NB switch
f. PTT switch
4. Correctly install either a base or mobile CB radio including correctly SWR of antenna.
5. Demonstrate the ability to correctly call and answer using a CB radio.

I have tried to make this more country generic and added a little also. One thing that did cross my mind was reverting it a little to a more basic honour then adding an advanced. Comments welcome on that. I have placed an old cb in a somewhat odd part of the house to remind me to come back here sooner.
Nicely done
Very good. We can work together on this to turn it into a formal honor submission to the NAD, and it will bubble up to the GC from there.
