Isistius brasiliensis (tollo cigarro)

Dónde se encuentra : Este tiburón habita en los océanos cálidos de todo el mundo, particularmente cerca de islas, y se le ha encontrado a profundidades de hasta 3,7 km.

Descripción: Alcanza una longitud máxima de 42-56 cm, y tiene un cuerpo largo y cilíndrico con un hocico corto y chato, grandes ojos, dos pequeñas aletas dorsales sin espinas y una gran aleta caudal. Su color es marrón oscuro, y está cubierto por fotóforos productores de luz en su parte inferior, excepto por un «collar» oscuro alrededor de su garganta y sus hendiduras branquiales.
